Boating vacations ahoy? If you're packing for your trip and you're not sure what essentials to pack, take note! Here is a list of all the must-haves for your trip.
Sunscreen
During your boat trip, it is extremely important to protect the skin on your face and the rest of your body. You'll be spending most of the day in the sun, so it should come as no surprise that sunscreen is at the top of our list - it's probably the most essential item in every sailor's suitcase!
Cap or hat
For the same reason, don't forget to pack a cap or hat in your suitcase for your boating vacation to avoid getting a headache from the sun.
Swimsuit
We're sure you already had this in mind, but we had to remind you. Can you imagine if you forgot your swimsuit? Of course, this is another huge must-have, as you'll likely be spending most of the day in swimwear.
Sunglasses
The final must-have item to keep you protected is sunglasses. We are sure you'll be wearing them until the sun goes down.
Your favorite book
If you are a book lover, on your boating vacation you will find plenty of quiet time to enjoy your favorite book.
Warm clothing
Seasoned sailors already know that, at sea, even in summer, it is important to take warm clothing. The sea breeze and the wind can cause temperatures to feel significantly below what the thermometer is indicating.
Waterproof clothing
Besides warm clothing, it is essential to have a good raincoat in case it rains, as it will help keep you dry and comfortable.
Boat shoes
On board, we recommend walking barefoot or wearing closed, soft-soled, treaded shoes to avoid bumps and slips while on the water. Don't forget to pack a pair of sneakers and flip-flops for walks on the islands.
Eye mask
Are you the type of person who can't sleep at the first glimpse of sunshine? Then carry a travel eye mask in your suitcase to protect your eyes from the light and sleep peacefully during your boat trip.
Waterproof cell phone case
You are bound to remember your cell phone (and your charger!). However, if you do not have a waterproof device, be aware of the risks of it getting wet. To avoid any problems, we recommend that you bring a waterproof cover.
