Thinking of taking a boat trip? You've come to the right place. We’ll tell you everything you need to think about when hiring a boat in Ibiza and Formentera.
When is the best time of year to hire a boat in Ibiza?
Ibiza is a perfect destination for sailing lovers. Thanks to its mild temperatures and calm sea, you can enjoy rides (or trips) by boat almost all year round. If you’re looking for tranquillity and cooler temperatures, you’ll enjoy the beauty of travelling around the Pityusic islands by boat in the months before and after the high season (May, June, September and October). But if you enjoy going from one party to the next, from beach club to beach club and savouring the authentic Ibiza atmosphere both by day and by night, we’d recommend you do so in July and August. Bear in mind that boat hire prices are usually lower in spring and autumn.
What kind of boat should you hire?
This is the next thing you should think about and our last blog post offers different options for hiring the boat that best suits your personality and the type of trip you’re looking for, to enjoy Ibiza and Formentera in your own way. Our team will help you choose the best option based on your needs and budget.
What are the best beaches for docking?
Ibiza is blessed with completely paradisiacal beaches and coves, but choosing where to dock will also depend on the type of experience you’re after. If you’re looking to enjoy the tranquillity and bathe on white sandy beaches with turquoise waters, we’d recommend that you sail to the neighbouring island of Formentera, where you’ll find impressive beaches, such as Illetes, Es Caló or the virgin islet of S'Espalmador. If you’re in search of the wildest side of the island of Ibiza, we’d recommend taking a route towards the north of the island, where you’ll discover small coves with crystal-clear water (cala Xarraca, S'Illot des Rencli, Benirrás...) perfect for snorkelling and enjoying the best sunsets on the island. To enjoy the atmosphere at the most famous beach clubs, you’ll find beaches such as cala Jondal, Las Salinas or cala Bassa, where leisure and cuisine options are abundant in dreamy natural environments.
What do I need to bring for my boat trip around Ibiza?
The essentials you’ll need to pack for your upcoming boat experience in Ibiza and Formentera will depend on the type of trip you choose, its duration and the type of boat. You mustn’t forget to bring swimwear, sun cream and some beachwear for docking and heading onto land (having a meal at a beach bar, taking a stroll on the beach ...). Don't forget to bring something to keep you warm: you might get cold while sailing, even in the hottest months.
