If you are going to hire a boat in Ibiza, it is highly likely that you will spend most nights anchored in a bay.
But it’s also possible that on some nights this is not the most recommended option, either because of the adverse weather conditions, or because you need to refill water or recharge batteries, or you want to enjoy a night partying, or simply because you want to have a peaceful night’s sleep without having to keep one eye open.
In these cases you will have to spend a night in port, and for this reason we’re going to give you some tips so you choose that which most suits your needs.
The capital of the island has four marinas: Marina Botafoch, Marina Ibiza, Ibiza Yacht Club and Ibiza Magna.
Marina Botafoch opened in may 1984
Our main office is located in this marina. It is the furthest from the city center, very close to Talamanca Beach where you can enjoy a wide range of dining options with some of the best restaurants on the island, such as La Trattoria del Mar, which we have recommended to you in one of our posts.
The facilities offer fashion shops and boutiques, a supermarket, a wide culinary offer, ATM and a fuel station.
The stunning views to Dalt Vila (Old city) and the privacy offered by its pontoons and berths make this port the perfect place for those seeking tranquillity and a good atmosphere.
The exclusive Marina Ibiza Port is a short distance from the centre, on the continuation of the seafront promenade
Called Ibiza Nueva until its recent redevelopment, it has a boat service that connects it with the city centre.
Based in Marina Ibiza you can find our colleagues from Coral Marine who provide an excellent and bespoke service to both Superyachts and Megayachts. The calibre of its clients, yachts and boutiques makes this one of the world's most glamorous and expensive ports. It offers moorings for yachts up to 60 metres and a unique offer in leisure including the famous Lio (club, restaurant and cabaret), Cappuccino coffee restaurant, Blue Marlin Marina and Sa Calma coffee restaurant.
It has a private parking zone, fuel station, and two toilets, a changing room and shower areas. There is also a supermarket and an ATM.
The Ibiza yacht Club most known as Club Náutico de Ibiza is fully established as an institution, with a long history that began in 1925
It is located very close to the city centre, and it is perfect for going out on a night in the centre, but without the inconvenience of hearing the night-time commotion. It has several pontoons for club members and a new floating pontoon where visiting boats can moor.
Although the facilities are old, it offers all services including a changing room and toilets, plus a cafe with a generous terrace and fantastic views.
Ibiza Magna is the oldest port of all, located at the foot of the mediaeval city and to the side of the Marina district
The port promenade has been reformed recently, and now shows off the great range of restaurants, terraces and shops much better.
Its excellent location ensures that visitors can benefit from everything the city has to offer, as well as being the perfect marina for longer craft. Ibiza Magna offers berth to Megatyachts up to 160 metres.
In both Club Náutico de Ibiza and Ibiza Magna, it is recommended that you berth a long way from the pontoons and walk down a walkway, as both marinas are very close to the ferry docks that go to Formentera, and disturb the boats when they manoeuvre.
