Following a yearly tradition, between the 19th to the 27th of January, the world's largest indoor boat show was held in Düsseldorf. In a space of 220,000 square meters, more than 1,900 exhibitors from 68 countries presented their latest developments in the sector pleasing all recreational boating enthusiasts. Düsseldorf attracts a wide variety of people because you can buy anything from a beach towel to a chance to design a superyacht of your dreams if you have an unlimited budget.
Below we highlight four boats that caught our attention during our trip to the German city.
THE NEW SAN LORENZO SL86
The Italian shipyard debuted at the Düsseldorf Show with this impressive model which presents an innovated San Lorenzo layout. It incorporates a new deck that represents a living space for entertainment with several sofas, table, sunbathing mats and a folding awning. The salon is 2.5 meters bigger than that of an earlier model (SL82). Larger windows have been designed to fill the living room and the main deck with natural light. The Italian shipyard has provided this model with countless details such as glass stairs that go up to the flybridge and create an impressive visual effect. Flybridge has a 9 square meter rigid roof for sunbathing.
It is built using 2 different layouts. In Düsseldorf, they also presented the new SL78 with a look and layout similar to 86 but with less length.
THE LUXURIOUS RIVA RIVALE 56
New length, design and latest technology on the market make this new model similar to a miniature super-yacht. According to the shipyard, the boat performance is impressive with MAN 1200cv engines that provide a maximum speed of 38 knots. To give this yacht a special character, they took care of every tiny detail in the process of construction as well as choosing the best possible materials. It is equipped with high gloss mahogany inside and natural teak outside, lacquer finishes, stainless steel details, glass and mirror surfaces as well as top quality leather. The inspiration to design this beauty came from the details of the classic models of the 60s. With a starting price of €1,800,000 Ferreti is intending to launch on the market from 8 to 10 boats per year.
APREAMARE REJOICE AWARDED A TITLE OF THE NEW EUROPEAN MOTORBOAT OF THE YEARWith this new model, the Italian shipyard reinvents its design and aims to revolutionise the market. It won an award for being the best motorboat of the year in Europe between 25 and 35 feet. It has improvements in innovation, performance, comfort and technology, maintaining as well as reinterpreting the style of this renowned shipyard that is now aiming to attract a younger audience. Gozzo is the product of Cataldo Aprea's vision developed by designer Brunello Acampora and built by Imbarcazioni d' Italia. What stands out in this model is its spacious interior with 2 cabins, a kitchen and a bathroom. The minimalist and open deck gives us a feeling of being on a 40 feet walkaround. We hope to have some of these boats in charter this summer 2018 in Ibiza .
PARDO 43 IS AN INTERESTING BET DONE BY CANTIERE DEL PARDO SHIPYARD
This famous shipyard that has an established name in the construction of sailboats such as Grand Soleil Yachts and Grand Soleil Custom, brings to the market this modern, aggressive, sporty and elegant motor model. Carefully crafted design with a catapulting anchor system and a twin chine V-shaped hull guarantee smooth and comfortable navigation with a maximum speed of up to 38 knots with Volvo IPS600 engines. Inside it has 2 cabins and a bathroom, an open kitchen in the cockpit and a garage that has a capacity for a dingy and a SEABOB. With 9 boats already out there, we hope to be able to see some of them sailing around Ibiza and Formentera this summer. After a great reception at the show, the Italian shipyard is already planning to launch a 36 and a 50 feet model.
We are looking forward to receiving new updates from Miami Boat Show that started on February 15th.
