Espalmador is an idyllic place: a small, uninhabited island, a few metres off the northern coast of Formentera, with beaches of white sand and turquoise waters that make you think you’re on beach in the Caribbean. But no, you’re near Formentera and believe us: this paradise is every bit as good as any other tropical beach. It’s important to bear in mind that, in order to drop anchor off Espalmador island, it’s necessary to rent a mooring buoy; anchoring between buoys is completely forbidden in this area to protect the banks of Posidonia seagrass.
Ses Illetes beach is the most famous on Formentera, thanks to the transparent, crystal-clear waters that lap around it, the quality of its fine white sand and the extraordinary landscape in which it lies. It is undoubtedly a must-see part of your boat trip round Formentera, as well as an ideal beach for enjoying the island’s cuisine, thanks to the numerous restaurants lining its shore.
Cala en Baster is a small rocky cove located next to a housing development near Sant Ferran de ses Roques. It forms an incredible natural landscape, and is also one of the best places to enjoy some peace and quiet during the months of July and August on Formentera.
Es Caló beach, also known as Ses Platgetes, is one of the most-visited beaches on Formentera. Its crystal-clear waters and fine white sand make it the preferred place for many tourists and local bathers. The main attractions of this beach are is small coves with rocky outcrops, its dunes and the surrounding vegetation, all of which combine to ensure it is the favourite destination for many visitors to the island. Moreover, it is one of Formentera’s best beaches for snorkelling, thanks to the diversity of its marine life.

Located on the western side of the island, this small beach possesses limitless beauty thanks to its views and the incredible natural landscape that surrounds it. The transparency of its waters, in which there are also some rocky areas, attracts numerous visitors in high season, especially nudists. It also has various fishermen’s huts where working fishing vessels can still be found.
